Luxigo was founded in May 2014 by Daan van Duijn and IJsbrand de Lange, at the time bachelor students at Delft University of Technology.

As a part-time job, we both worked as instructors in the Mechanical Engineering workshop. Here, we instructed first-year students on turning, milling, laser cutting, and other machining tools.

In the workshop, the fascination for laser cutting arose, and the many possibilities with the machine were tested. The idea for our own laser machine was quickly born between both of us.

Since a laser cutter is not something you can put in a dorm room, we immediately started looking for our own location. Luxigo started in a space of less than 25 square meters on the Buitenwatersloot. After a year, a second adjacent space was rented to expand.

One year later, in September 2016, it was decided to rent a larger space at Staalweg in Delft.

The name Luxigo

Luxigo specializes in high-precision, high-quality laser cutting and engraving of materials.

This is also incorporated into the name, Luxigo, which originated from the Latin words ‘Lux‘ (light) and ‘Exigo‘ (precisely).

Since September 2018, Luxigo has continued as a sole proprietorship under Daan's leadership. IJsbrand has fully dedicated himself to his new company. Stil-Orthosis.

In January 2019, Luxigo's operations expanded with a new company: Woodymaps. WoodyMaps is an online store offering wooden city maps, coasters, and postcards. Perhaps your city is also in our collection!

In addition to WoodyMaps and graduation, another company went online in October 2019: Kraeck. Kraeck was founded by Marc, Freek, and Daan, and we specialize in developing wooden puzzles. From mobile escape rooms and children's puzzles to workshops for larger groups.

The contract for Staalweg expired at the beginning of 2020. This forced the companies to move for a second time. Since February 2020, we have been located on the Rotterdamseweg. At the beginning of 2020, the workshop (number 370 A12) and the office (number 370 A13) were separate. The office area also housed MTB3D, a company with many 3D printers running.

At the beginning of 2021, we were informed that the property at number 370A10 would also become available. Luxigo then moved to number 370A10 with more space to grow. 

We are currently still located at Rotterdamseweg 370A10 in Delft.
